Metal smelting is one of the main businesses of the Conglomerate. In 2011, we began producing ferroalloys and related deep-processing products. In 2017, we implemented a technical renovation and expansion project for a 1.3 million-ton annual production capacity high-carbon ferrochrome submerged arc furnace. In the first phase, we upgraded an existing 33,000 kVA ferronickel furnace to a 48,000 kVA ferrochrome furnace and constructed a new 48,000 kVA ferrochrome furnace to complement an existing "RKEF" production line with a rotary kiln. The second phase plans to build six 48,000 kVA closed submerged arc furnaces alongside three rotary kilns measuring 5.5 meters in diameter and 75 meters in length. Once fully completed, the project will achieve an annual production capacity of 1.3 million tons of high-carbon ferrochrome. In 2020, the four 48,000 kVA ferrochrome furnaces from the first phase began production, reaching a production capacity of 500,000 tons of high-carbon ferrochrome annually.

Our Conglomerate is not only making progress in production but also striving for environmental protection and resource utilization. We employ a closed, fully automated operation and the advanced SRC technology from Japan to achieve resource recycling.
